Senior Accountant – Customer Projects
Would you like the opportunity to be responsible for managing the financial aspects of a variety of projects?We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Accountant – Customer Projects at our site in New Malden OR Frimley.
As a Senior Accountant – Customer Projects, you will be working with and assisting the Project Finance Manager in the financial management and control of the Core Combat Systems Equipment (CCSE) programmes, covering about 100 varied projects. Providing high quality financial support and advice to the Project and Management teams, your role will be to ensure successful contract execution and delivery of IBP targets.
This role is quite a unique accountancy role in that it will provide you with the opportunity to have close interaction with the projects, and close interaction with non-financial stakeholders, which will potentially provide opportunities for progression with the wider financial Team at BAE.
Your main responsibilities as a Senior Accountant – Customer Projects will involve:
Providing Project Accounting support, challenging and advising the Project teams through active engagement in Bids, Project Risk reviews and Contract Reviews
Complying with all elements of internal processes and application of BAE Systems Finance Policies and Financial Controls
Assisting Cost Account Managers and Project Managers in the production of robust cost estimates to complete and forecast updates. Completion of all weekly and monthly forecasting as required
Analysing, reviewing, challenging and advising on performance data; ensuring data integrity between the various systems
Maintaining and reviewing of the project Contract Status Reports and Summary Status Reports including relevant comments to aid management understanding of movements and variances
Working with the Project teams and others to ensure all deliverables for the Integrated Business Plan (IBP) and budgets are achieved
Your skills and qualifications:
Qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with demonstrable experience of financially managing contracts.
Good analytical skills
Competent user of MS-Excel and MS-PowerPoint. Able to manipulate and present data for a range of end users, including non-Financial personnel
Understanding of Earned Value techniques and reporting
Knowledge of SAP desirable but not a pre-requisite
Knowledge of TM1 useful but not a pre-requisite
