BAE Systems Maritime Naval Ships is expanding its system integration capability to support its current exciting Global Combat Ship Programme.The Type 26 project is leading this work and we currently have a fantastic developmental vacancy for an Electrical Engineer to join our integration team in Glasgow. Supported by the Senior Electrical Engineer, this role is responsible for the analysis of electrical power system data and subsequent investigations into electrical or functional problems. The role will also be involved in undertaking electrical power system studies (transients, harmonics and stability) and developing further design improvements.
Working across the disciplines of electrical distribution, power & propulsion, and systems integration, the role holder will be responsible for providing electrical engineering input to electrical test reports focused on electrical quality of power supply and equipment behavior.
The role holder will develop a detailed functional understanding of the equipment within the Type 26 power and propulsion system, and will leverage this as part of developing analysis reports. The role also involves investigating functional integration issues and challenging aspects of the existing system design.
This role will also engage with the electrical power systems modelling team and may include supporting the simulation of electrical power system events in order to generate results for comparison and validation.
The successful candidate can expect support throughout their pursuit of obtaining Chartered Engineer status.
