Senior Engineer – Support Documentation

Would you like to support the submarine programme by producing and delivering all the technical documentation to safely operate and maintain the equipment and systems of Nuclear Submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Engineer – Support Documentation at our site in Filton.

As a Senior Engineer – Support Documentation, you will, interrogate and challenge Equipment & System design information to produce the configuration records and the supporting Technical Descriptions, Maintenance Task Information and Illustrated Parts Data, using various supporting applications which are delivered through an Interactive Electronic Technical Publication

This role will provide you with Secure employment that will enhance your submarine technical knowledge & experience and enhances team unification/strengthening within both In-service and Build submarines, including SSNR.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Engineer – Support Documentation will involve:

This position works alongside the team that delivers the Technical Documentation in accordance with the required programme schedule for In-Service and Build submarines and fields any technical queries that any end user raises.

Operates with the MoD documentation sponsors to ensure that all amendments and updates are available, correct and accurate.

Communicates with the submarine documentation stakeholders to identify, review, discuss, advise and action technical requests.

Review/interrogation of MoD design change guidance information for Alterations & Additions and Class Modifications to consider and develop impacted documentation areas directly and includes the transverse aspects; i.e. Shore proving & integration, Spares, Certificates of Clearance for Use, Damage Control Documentation.

The role ensures that the delivered technical documentation aligns with the material state of the submarine

Your skills and qualifications as a Senior Engineer – Support Documentation Engineer:

HNC / HND or equivalent or Experience with an engineering background

Extensive experience in an Engineering field

You will have some experience of the following:

o Ex – Operator Mechanical Engineering / Weapon Engineering background

o Maritime Engineering

o Support Engineering / ILS Engineer

o Technical background understands how MoD Maritime operates

o Ex - Submariner

o Work in Military Engineering
