Would you like to play a key role in ensuring that the Joint Avionics Solution (JAS) (BAE Systems & Leonardo) deliver operational performance improvements and cost reduction for TyTAN? We currently have a vacancy for a JAS Business Manager at our site in RAF Coningsby.

As a JAS Business Manager, you will be managing the delivery of the end-to-end Avionics optimisation activities to schedule and budget and be the primary support to the JAS Contract Owner in all JAS Business related decisions. You will act as a shared service between BAE Systems AIR, Leonardo and BAE Systems Rochester teams to ensure delivery of the JAS Contract (c.£750M)

This role will provide you with the opportunity to be the key point of contact and responsible for providing guidance on contractual and business issues to the JAS Leads and is the key customer interface for business performance issues and their resolution.

Your main responsibilities as a Business Manager will involve:

Developing the TyTAN organisation to deliver the required business solution that ensures operational delivery in line with financial expectations.

Responsible for achieving the JAS profitability targets against a c.£750M contract; ensuring all opportunities are baselined and realised against the plan meeting CSR & business commitments in year and against the forecasted position at contract completion.

Supporting good two-way communications between on base, off base, European and ML4 stakeholders.

Reviewing and analysing programme durations and costs with a view to improving/reducing whilst ensuring delivery to specification.

Ensuring that TyTAN enabler programmes are managed and implemented in line with CSR assumptions. Ensure Project and SBS leads take accountability of savings and ensure all actions are managed in a timely manner. Support leads on any contractual and business needs

Ensuring compliance with the Operational Framework, relevant Project Management policies, and all project management tools and techniques, e.g. Life Cycle Management (LCM), risk registers, change control, project control system etc.

Ensuring all internal & external reporting is clear, robust and portrays the TyTAN strategy.

Developing the JAS commercial position at the ‘front’ & ‘back’ end maximising the JAS / TyTAN financial position at all times

Delivery of significant contract change into the JAS solution workings with all the JAS leads consisting of BAE Systems AIR, BAE Systems ES and Leonardo. The JAS forecasts c.£100M+ of contract change over the next 18 months

Your skills and qualifications:

Educated to degree level or equivalent experience, with a record of tangible delivery in an Aircraft industry

Demonstrable experience and success in effecting business change with focus on Contract Delivery adhering to schedule & cost whilst meeting operational deliverables

Experience/background within Aerospace and Defence sector including Project Management and Availability Contracting

Excellent understanding of Availability Contracting and the requirements for operation and support of large aircraft Fleets and the parameters that affect their performance

Experienced leader able to influence internal and external stakeholders enabling delivery of TyTAN commitments

Strong Information Technology and Project Management skills ideally CSR experience and knowledge
