Combat Systems Supply Chain Specialist

Would you like to be part of a team which directs and manages Combat Systems procurement activities within the Naval Ships Business, working on the most cutting edge technology for the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Combat Systems Supply Chain Specialist at our site in Filton.

As a Combat Systems Supply Chain Specialist, you will be working within the integrated project teams, supporting the delivery of multiple cross-functional engagements from RFI/RFQ stage through to project delivery and ongoing Contract Management. The role includes of assisting the implementation of procurement strategies & plans, and the associated engagement and management of suppliers, projects and other stakeholders to deliver project/business objectives.

This role will involve working with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders and will provide the opportunity to develop close relationships with the wider business network.

Your main responsibilities as a Combat Systems Supply Chain Specialist will involve:

Supporting the procurement strategies and plans for materials and services

Managing, supporting and or preparing outputs and deliverables and selecting suppliers in accordance with the departmental procedures

Managing and supporting or negotiating commercial, financial, and schedule elements of the subcontracts/project and any authorised changes in line with departmental procedures

Pro-actively support and deliver effective supplier management and service delivery

Identifying and implementing business improvements resulting in cost saving opportunities

Acting as the primary point of contact with assigned suppliers and customers (internal/external)

Demonstrating commercial understanding to be able to manage a contract

Demonstrating an understanding of basic T&C’s

Your skills and qualifications:

Extensive experience within the procurement / supply chain department

Strong stakeholder experience and understanding, demonstrating strong communication skills and commercial acumen

Export control

Experience managing cost drivers in the value chain and the principles of total cost of ownership

Experience of supporting the management of dynamic change programmes managing change programmes

Risk & opportunity management experience

MCIPS

Systems procurement experience with SAP, Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Windchill are all desirable
