IM&T Principal Support Engineer – Routed Systems
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Principal Support Engineer – Routed Systems to join our growing UK business. You will join our Engineering Systems team at an exciting time as we grow to meet current program needs in the UK and recent export wins including the Hunter Class Frigate for the Australian Navy and the Canadian Surface Combatant.
You will define, support and train personnel in the creation and application of CAD/CAM processes and strategies. You will also work to make efficient use of CAD/CAM tools and their associated engineering and manufacturing interfaces.
The working environment has changed dramatically at Naval Ships in recent years. As an IM&T Principal Support Engineer – Routed Systems your main responsibilities will involve:
Developing efficient and effective processes that will be utilised by Routed Systems Engineers across the business
Providing Engineering Routed Systems training, at elbow support and documentation
Delivering cost effective solutions to all business functions focusing on Engineering, Operations and Planning
Identifying process improvement opportunities to drive business efficiency and innovation
Demonstrating, highlighting and justifying business benefits derived from alternative use of technology.
Your skills and qualifications as an IM&T Principal Support Engineer – Routed Systems:
Expert knowledge relating to Piping discipline and/or HVAC
Experience in Multi CAD Environments including Foran, Tribon, NX and AutoCAD
Educated to HNC/Degree level or 10 + Years CAD/CAM Experience
Optimisation of outputs relating to routed systems manufacturing & assembly
Creation of training course materials and training delivery
Multi discipline at elbow support
Knowledge and experience defining Ship Applicability solutions within a CAD/CAM environment
Validate effectiveness of processes ensuring appropriate adoption within the user community
Working alongside vendors to improve toolsets via new functionality or raising support requests
Working knowledge in the use of programming languages such as SQL and Oracle

You will demonstrate an eagerness to learn and progress in role and have a positive attitude, professional demeanour and strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work alongside both business and technical teams and be the liaison point between both
Location: Glasgow. Potential for occasional travel between other UK sites to meet customer needs.
