Technical Business Analyst

As an experienced professional, you'll shape the technology solutions that drive strategic initiatives across the firm. Working at the intersection of business and technology, you'll interact with colleagues in various lines of businesses to learn about challenges and opportunities, and translate that insight into high-quality solutions. In addition to working with the development team to create new solutions, you'll help optimize existing technology and identify new capabilities. While your role requires deep technological skills – including expertise in everything from data management to functional design – it also hinges on teamwork and leadership.


Qualifications

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience (Bachelor degree in Business or Computer Science discipline preferred)
  • Hands-on Business Analysis experience in Financial Services and understanding of various financial products is strongly preferred
  • Capital Markets experience with understanding of collateral management would be preferable, but not mandatory
  • As a liaison between project business stakeholders and development teams, BA will gather, analyze, document and communicate business requirements (artifacts include BRDs, FRDs, Epics, Stories, etc.). Plan and initiate information technology (IT) projects, participate in translating business requirements into functional system designs, and plan project stages and assess business implications for each stage.
  • Support Project Management: create and maintain project plan, align agile team delivery with the overall project delivery roadmap, provide transparent and regular updates to stakeholders on status, progress and risks
  • Partner with colleagues across various lines of business to plan and manage multiple work streams, strategic projects. Helping project team members to: define and analyze business requirements, procedures, and problems and translate business requirements into functional system design.
  • Will implement software development lifecycle methodologies including Agile and Waterfall and will manage backlog prioritization utilizing SCRUM and the overall quality assurance process.
  • Responsible for monitoring project progress to assure deadlines, standards, and cost targets are met.
  • Understanding of SQL and ability to construct database queries
  • Experience with using JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint
  • Must be highly proficient in the following set of tools: Visio, MS Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Document test cases in conjunction with business requirements and ensure that clear validation criteria are established for QA purposes (some hands on testing is required) and responsible to coordinate with QA/ UAT teams and participate in deployment management.
