Airfield Ground Support Unit Operator
Would you like to deliver airfield ground support services? We currently have a vacancy for an Airfield Ground Support Unit Operator at our site in Warton.
As an Airfield Ground Support Unit Operator, you will be responsible for personnel, equipment and resources in accordance with licensing, regulatory, BAE Systems rules, procedures, bye laws and business requirements. The service provision includes storage, handling and distribution of aviation fuel, FOD sweeping operations and snow clearance, aircraft towing, aircraft de-icing, fork lift truck operation and freight handling.
This role is very dynamic and very varied and will enable you to gain further exposure across the business.
Your main responsibilities as an Airfield Ground Support Unit Operator will involve:
Movement of the aircraft and ground equipment to meet business requirements
De-icing the aircraft to business requirements in line with required standards
Sweeping operations and snow clearance for airside surfaces to meet required business standards
Escorting duties for airside works in accordance with aerodrome operating procedures
Provision of emergency services and low visibility support as requested
Corporate Air Travel (CAT) operations support in line with agreed service
Control and management of fuel storage for domestic and aircraft operation operations to regulatory standards
Provision of fuelling operations to aircraft on request in line with service agreements
Using supplied PPE equipment relevant to work activities and as directed maintain the equipment to ensure operational effectiveness
Not intentionally or recklessly interfering with or misusing anything acts or omissions at work, provided in the interests of health, safety and welfare
Adhering to company SHE policies and local SHE Plan requirements
Your skills and qualifications:
Foreign Object Debris (FOD) awareness trained
Hold an airside driving qualification
Aircraft towing experience
Explosives safety certificated, fork lift truck operator and HGV licence (Class 2 minimum requirement)
Familiar with the fuel farm and fuel handling procedures
Ability to work shifts
Human factors trained is desirable
