As a leader of a Software Engineering team, you will dive right into creating innovative solutions that advance businesses and careers. You’ll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists dedicated to develop and deploy large scale infrastructure solutions that supports JPMC’s diverse and critical businesses. You will be using the latest technologies, data management and security practices in all aspect of software development. Critical thinking, clear communication and collaboration are key to success product delivery.

The role will oversee the software development of key software components used across a number of Private Cloud database products. A direct feature team made up of both dedicated and seconded engineers will develop shared features. This role must make the reuse of software across Private Cloud database products a success, including maintaining the level of software quality being written. Specifically you will drive the approaches to re-use across that portfolio and high quality of artifacts developed with deep engineering discipline and software architectural rigour. You will run the teams in an Agile manner with continuous delivery.

You will oversee a number of Database wide topics, tools and features and in each case look to structure a cloud native solution for the future. You will strive to make as many products as possible achieve our 2025 technology vision and beyond.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Mastery of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
  • Command of architecture, design and business processes
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices
  • Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
  • Expertise in working in in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture
  • Must be a career software engineer, not having learnt development in the last few years
  • Test driven development, source management, merging branches should all be second nature
