IM&T PLM Developer

Are you looking for a new challenge in IT? BAE Systems Maritime - Naval Ships have several Software Development roles available within the IM&T function based at our sites in either Filton, Portsmouth or Glasgow.

You will be joining the team at an exciting time as we grow to meet current program needs in the UK and recent export wins including the Hunter Class Frigate for the Australian Navy and the Canadian Surface Combatant.

You will work with analysts and developers to understand the needs of the business, tease out their requirements and the data required to fulfil it. You will transform and develop this insight into solutions that are used across all areas of the business.

As an IM&T PLM Developer your main responsibilities will involve:

Collaborating with the customer and business analysts in scoping projects, requirement analysis and design

Producing design documents, use cases, sequence diagrams and other supplementary information.

Configuring, developing and supporting Windchill PDMLink, Project Link & Thingworx

Identifying opportunities to drive business efficiency, continuous improvement and innovation

As an IM&T PLM Developer your skills and qualifications must include:

Certified Java Associate or Programmer

Working experience with one of the following products - PTC Windchill PDMLink/MPMLink/Project Link or Thingworx is desirable

Completed a PTC Windchill PDMLink Customisation Course is desirable

Experience in Object-Oriented Analysis and Design and Iterative Development Experience in Javascript and other Web Technologies.

It would be advantageous to have some of the following skills and experience:

Experience with the Spring Framework 3+ (Data Access – DAO, MVC, ORM…)

Experience in CAD/ERP Systems.
Knowledge of PL/SQL.

Knowledge of XML and associated technologies

Knowledge of RESTful/SOAP Web Services

Knowledge in source control management (GIT, Bitbucket Implemention)

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to work alongside both business and technical teams and be the liaison point between both

Location: Glasgow, Filton, Portsmouth. Potential for occasional travel between other UK sites to meet customer needs
