An exciting opportunity has become available for a Technical writer who is passionate about creating useful and engaging support content for life science researchers and industry professionals across the globe. You will provide audiences with accurate and timely content to educate and address their needs pre and post -sale through Abcam’s digital channels.
Working closely with colleagues in the digital experience team and across the wider business, you will be responsible for writing and editing technical help and support content for the website, other external facing digital platforms and Abcam’s internal knowledge base. Content topics will be wide-ranging from ordering queries through to protocols and more advanced technical answers to Abcam’s customer questions.
Understand Abcam’s customer needs and be able to independently collect the relevant information to and transform complex content and translate that into a simple digestible format for our target audience
Write technical and non-technical content across a range of formats to be hosted on company and external platforms, ensuring content is tailored for different channels and audiences
Working cross-functionally to create help and support content to answer technical queries. These could relate to new product launches, research applications, trouble-shooting guides, protocols
- Editing and curating existing content to ensure it is accurate, relevant and up to date
- Working alongside our SEO team to optimise new and existing help and support content
- Proposing and prioritising content ideas based around business priorities, customer feedback and campaigns
Assessing content performance within the help and support area of the website, communicating outcomes and applying learnings to future work
You should be a self-starter with proven ability to work on both your own initiative and collaboratively across teams
You should be an enthusiastic customer orientated individual who is motivate and energised about getting customers to the right answers to their questions.
You are a keen writer who enjoys producing and presenting information in a clear and transparent way for our customers. Content needs can range from basic queries to more technical trouble shooting and you will be able to cater for a wide audience with different help and support needs
You should have excellent communication skills, an eye for detail
Working directly in Abcam’s customer knowledge base you will be comfortable using systems to access reporting, generate content and formatting as required
Experience in ensuring that content produced by yourself or others is accurate, concise, engaging and in line with style and brand guidelines is essential, as is the ability to work to tight deadlines. You should be someone who takes initiative and is results oriented.
Previous experience in writing engaging technical content for external audience is essential. A life sciences background or proven scientific or technical literacy is required, a PhD in a life science subject would be desirable.
