Java or Python Software Engineer - Big Data - Core Platform

As a Senior Software Engineer, your mission is to help lead our team of innovators and technologists toward creating next-level solutions that improve the way our business is run. Your deep knowledge of design, analytics, development, coding, testing and application programming will help your team raise their game, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements. In this role, you will become a major hands-on contributor on the high-performing global development team consisting of London, New York and India software engineers. Put in practice the core-engineering concepts of the Data Rationalization Program, from platform stability to cloud deployment.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:


    BS/BA degree or equivalent experience

      Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

        Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes

          Keen understanding of financial control and budget management

          • Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals

          • Fundamental knowledge of and hands-on experience with the key open-source components of Cloudera/Hadoop distribution stack such as Kafka, Spark, HBase, Impala

          • Passionate to understand and own each and every byte of the data ingested to and processed by the platform

          • Solid development experience in core Java and Python

          • Experience in building DevOps tools, from data quality checks to system performance monitoring for big data batch-driven and real-time pipelines

          • Experience in deploying in AWS stack is a plus
