The Chief Technology Office (CTO) oversees enabling components inclusive of the top quality engineering and architecture tools and practices, key program management and processes as well as the technology workforce strategy required to make us a leading technology company for our customers, clients and colleagues around the world.

An exciting opportunity for a talented and enthusiastic ‘T-shaped’ Designer to join the Experience Design Team. It’s our vision to create a transparent and inclusive user-centered culture to how we design software and services. Reducing complexity and encouraging reuse at every opportunity, bringing focus to the priorities that have the highest business value.

We are currently embarking on a mission to transform how services and products are designed and delivered, across the whole organization, that will improve the lives of all employees at JP Morgan Chase.

As a creative designer you will have a natural curiosity to figure out how things work, to continually questioning the ‘why’, so you can suggest better ways of doing things. The successful candidate will be exposed to a wide variety of exciting design challenges.

We are part of an exciting and fast-moving global organization where you will enjoy frequent communication with project stakeholders and be an active player in a flourishing in-house design community in the Glasgow Technology Hub.

Essentials:

  • Strong portfolio demonstrating beautiful, creative, usable, high quality design solutions

  • Passion for design across a broad range of mediums, from print design, to interactive and video

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Proficient with industry standard software (e.g. Sketch, Invision, Adobe CS)

  • Appetite and drive for innovation

  • Excellent design skills and creative flair

  • Collaborative mind-set and interest in working with other designers, product managers, technologists and business owners

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to inspire others

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Self-motivated with the ability to juggle multiple projects

  • Awareness of design trends, digital culture and contribute to it

  • Strong sketching/illustration skills

    Nice to have:

  • Experience creating brand/style guides or UI tool kits.

  • Previous experience within FinTech, financial services, or investment banking

  • Experience in dealing with clients and presenting proposed solutions

  • Experience designing for multi-platform products and implementing best practices

  • Experience in creating and leveraging design guidelines / pattern libraries

  • Experience working in Agile / Scrum methodologies

  • Strong copywriting skills

Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript
