Brief Description

Are you an Engineering apprentice or graduate looking for a new role within one of the UK's largest Supply Chains?

As an Assistant Engineer, you will support in the delivery of all engineering activities Nationally to Fleets of On-Track-Machines and various other rail vehicles, which ensure that assets are fit for purpose and compliant with relevant legislation and standards. You will support the delivery of fleet engineering work which will support the continuous improvements of the fleet and enhance capabilities.

        Experience within an engineering discipline?

        You will be providing input to the production of engineering specifications for maintenance, modification, renewals and construction of assets while maintaining positive relations with customers, suppliers and between key internal departments.

        About the role (External)

        Key Accountabilities:

          Support the delivery of maintenance, repair, modification and overhaul of fleet assets to ensure they are fit-for-purpose and can safely deliver our customer requirements.

            Input to the delivery of modifications to the assets and engineering deliverables necessary to demonstrate compliance with commercial and engineering policy.

              Provide technical input to contract management, monitor KPI's and implementation of corrective actions.

                Support the identification of engineering issues, prioritisation of tasks and where necessary, escalate where they have the potential to impact on service delivery.

                  Provide input to the development and implementation of the engineering management strategy for assets, including, maintenance, overhaul, improvements, spares and value engineering.

                    Manage your own competence and development plan; including knowledge of; design, maintenance, overhaul, modification, project management and approvals of assets.

                    Job Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

                    Essential:

                      An apprenticeship or a degree in a relevant engineering discipline

                        Knowledge of engineering principles

                          Ability to learn new skills and take on challenges

                            Motivated individual that is keen to develop their skills

                              Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

                              Desirable:

                                Experience of applying engineering principles

                                We adhere to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: £28,000- £30000
