Media Relations Associate
A fantastic opportunity to develop your media knowledge within our communications function has become available within our Head Office business. We currently have a vacancy for a Media Relations Associate at our site in Farnborough.
As a Media Relations Associate, you will be a key member of the corporate media team, ensuring the smooth and effective running of the Group press office; acting as the first access point into the company for media; playing a key role in the delivery of proactive Group reputation and UK media relations activity; and helping to ensure effective issues management
This is a hands-on role in a fast paced environment and you will have the opportunity to work closely with teams across the business, as well as key external stakeholders.
Your main responsibilities as a Media Relations Associate will involve:
Protecting the company reputation through the delivery of proactive media relations in support of the company strategy and support of issues management
Playing a role in the strategy, planning, organisation and logistics for planned media activities such as site visits and telephone interviews
Supporting media relations activity surrounding financial calendar announcements
Developing media materials, sourcing information from the businesses as necessary, including press releases, feature articles, graphics and social media content
Developing engaging content for our key corporate digital channels, including Plc Twitter, Facebook and online newsroom
Supporting the Director, Media Relations with day-to-day management of the group media budget
Managing and delivering key press office services such as media monitoring and licensing, including managing relationships with key suppliers
Your skills and qualifications as a Media Relations Associate:
Proven written, editorial and interpersonal skills
Project management skills
Clear understanding of reputational risk and management
Experience of working to deadlines and prioritising work effectively
Experience of managing a budget

Strong organisational skills are critical to this role to ensure effective delivery of press office activities, as well as verbal, written and interpersonal skills in order to develop high quality content and maintain effective working relationships at all levels across the business and with key external stakeholders. You should be highly motivated with a desire to succeed.
