CIB F&BM Market Operations Analyst

Position Summary

The primary function of the role will be to provide Business and Finance support to three lines of business within CIB Markets Operations of approx. 750 headcount and 74mm of expenses

The role will involve regular interaction with colleagues across Operations and F&BM.

Candidates will be expected possess strong inter-personal skills, and demonstrate a proven track record of delivery in financial business management and program management fields. The ideal candidate will be conscientious and proactive in problem solving. The candidate should ideally have business management experience and prior experience in managing financial planning, budgeting and forecasting.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Management

  • Support the planning and forecasting process through engagement with stakeholders

  • Support the monthly financial review process
  • Partner with regional finance and controller teams on month end close related activities

  • Work with Regional F&BM team to monitor accuracy of monthly accruals and actuals

  • Support optimization of the businesses through identifying opportunities for efficiencies and reductions

  • Review and support the cost allocation process

Resource Management

  • Manage staffing and resourcing requests globally
  • Ensure accuracy of headcount reporting and review workforce location strategy

  • Provide scenario analysis to operational leads to help them make timely and informed business decisions

Management Reporting

  • Drive accountability across the organization for execution against plan

  • Deliver monthly business reviews to relevant stakeholders
  • Support the improvement of dashboards and management reporting


Skills, Qualifications & Experience


  • Background in finance, technology / operations or business management

  • Demonstrate the ability to drive results in fast paced challenging environments

  • Must have a collaborative and participative style, displaying professionalism, sensitivity, discretion and sound decision-making skills as well as the ability to interact at senior executive level

  • Ability to work independently, taking a leadership role on specific efforts

  • Ability to multi-task, moving easily between strategy and execution

  • Ability to organize tasks and activities effectively

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills – must be able to synthesize data into concise messages for leadership

  • Excellent analytical & problem solving skills

  • Outstanding attention to detail, follow-up skills and results-orientation

  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Product Suite (Excel, Powerpoint, etc.)

  • Exposure to tools like Tableau, Qlikview, eXtrasheet, and Alteryx will be an advantage.
