Procurement Manager – Air Capability & Equipment Shared Service

We have a number of exciting opportunities within the Military Industry, both Strategic and Operational, as part of the Air Capability & Equipment (AC&E) Shared Service. We currently have vacancies for Procurement Managers at both our Warton and Samlesbury sites.

AC&E is a Shared Service, providing a variety of procurement services to the business across a wide range of products and global customer base

The Procurement Manager roles are an invitation to demonstrate how you would lead through life strategic and operational activity on 3 major air platforms and future programmes. The role will require you to lead a team of professionals managing several suppliers to ensure delivery of contractual requirements, develop solutions to address customer challenges and develop and inspire your team to meet the shared service goals and objectives.

Your main responsibilities as Procurement Manager – Air Capability & Equipment Shared Service will include:

Leading and developing a team of procurement professionals

Managing delivery of production requirements, developing strategies for sustainment and future contracts

Developing and influencing strategies to meet customer and supplier challenges

Leading the evaluation and negotiation of proposals, identifying key procurement opportunities, dependencies and risks

Developing, reviewing and challenging of existing and new business agreements

Managing supplier contractual performance and adherence against key performance indicators

Where appropriate lead cross functional initiatives, working with suppliers to improve overall performance and adherence to contract

Your skills and qualifications as a Procurement Manager:

Essential:

High level of business acumen and financial understanding

Experience of leading and developing teams to a successful outcome

Experience of working within a change environment

Experience of sourcing strategies and supplier approvals

Technical procurement skills: strong negotiation and contracting capability, procurement strategy development, supply chain management, supplier development

Desirable:

Knowledge of the military environment, market and supply base

Strategically driven to maximise value from the Supplier Solutions

Procurement, Project Management, Finance or Commercial environment

You will have excellent communication skills and be confident presenting information and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.

You will be well organised with a keen eye for detail and a willingness to learn new skills and undertake further training where necessary. You will be able to work well on your own initiative and demonstrate positive behaviours to succeed in a changing business environment.

Location: Warton/Samlesbury - Willingness to travel to suppliers’ premises, UK and International

Salary: £44,600
