Would you like to play key a role in supporting both BAE Systems and the Royal Navy? We currently have a vacancy for a Data and Information Manager at our site in Portsmouth – Broad Oak.

With the full support of the leadership team you will be increasing the management control, maturity and value of data across BAE Systems. To support this we are recruiting for a Data and Information Manager to take a leading role in identifying new business opportunities through the use of data insights.

Leading a highly competent team and reporting directly to the Head of Information Systems & Services, you will work with key stakeholders across the organisation to champion the use of data in both internal service provision and external business contributing to the revenue targets of our business.

Your main responsibilities as a Data and Information Manager will involve:

Managing Data Exploitation, Data Management and Data Visualisation leads to deliver Maritime Services business requirements both internally and externally

Providing coaching, mentoring and leadership to the Data & Information management team, to continuously develop the organisation to be a professional, efficient and effective team.

You will be responsible for expanding and developing a team ranging from Data Scientists to Management Information experts.

You will work closely in line with the Strategy, Enterprise Architecture and Resource functions working in an enthusiastic team to deliver our business plan.

Provide technical direction in the development and management of data assets promoting best practice methodologies

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:

The ability to set data management strategy and formulate data initiatives’ delivery roadmaps


Be strong advocate for data management and should be a champion for data as a corporate asset.

High level of commercial awareness and relationship building

Understand the costs and benefits of data management as related to business objectives


The ability to lead and complete business data management initiatives


Desirable:
Maritime or Defence Experience
