Brief Description

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who will be able to assist with the sponsorship and delivery of a portfolio consisting of Network Rail enhancement schemes.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to travel to some of our fantastic office locations across England, Wales and Scotland on a regular basis to meet with your clients / stakeholders. This role can be based in several locations, such as Milton Keynes, Manchester, London, York, Swindon and Cardiff.

Excellent communication skills will be key as you will need to develop and maintain relationships with your customers and stakeholders whilst supporting their interests. You will also be working with these partners closely to identify new opportunities for them to invest in the network.

About the role

What does the day to day look like?

Day to day you will beassisting and managing the development and sponsorship of proposals for station enhancements, in-particular new stations and station accessibility schemes

This will involve providing support and advice to our colleagues in Network Rails' Regions as well as external stakeholders / deliverer's making sure the development and delivery of schemes are kept on track willbe key, alongside undertaking reporting on the progression of schemes against agreed budgets, delivery plans and work programmes, challenge and intervene as required with the delivery partners to achieve this.

While undertaking this role, you will have the opportunity to get involve with the;

    Developing and Contributing to station enhancements across the Network, taking part in the discussions on developing new Programmes of station improvements, undertake close liaison with the Department for Transport and other key stakeholders across the country.

      Undertake post implementation reviews to close schemes, check the customer is fully billed and pays for the works, whether the works deliver the intended outputs, benefits and new works are fully incorporated into maintenance and renewal plans in-conjunction with our colleagues in the Regions.

      You will also be assisting with

        Negotiations with customers for the commercial and contractual terms on which schemes will be implemented, or, where the project will be implemented by a third party, the terms on which Network Rail will provide asset protection.

          Sponsorship of the programmes allocated making sure delivery or facilitation (through asset protection arrangements) by Capital Delivery / other delivery mechanisms of externally and internally funded schemes to track, monitoring whether customer and stakeholder requirements are fully met on scope, price, quality and programme of works.

                    Network Rail adheres to a structured pay framework, any salary offered will be within the following pay range: £32,740 - £36,832
