Would you like to play a key part in our quality team delivering common quality capabilities across CS&S (Complex Systems and Support)? We currently have a vacancy for a Quality Leader at our site in Ash Vale, Frimley.
As a Quality Leader, you will be delivering a common quality capability which enables the achievement of a quality product or service which meets stakeholder's needs, this ensures that we maintain our ISO 9001 (Quality Management System) accreditation and provide a process framework for the organisation.
This role will provide you with the chance of liaising with different interfaces within the business, working with suppliers and working across a variety of locations, you will receive training on ERP (SAP) and also further training on 9000:1, there will be other opportunities within the team / function and the potential for other quality roles within the business.
Your main responsibilities as a Quality Leader will involve:
You will be able to access and have a clear understanding of and apply the quality and SHE management system documentation e.g. Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc, applicable to your work scope
Undertaking the day to day quality activities, including undertaking product quality inspections activities both onsite and at supplier’s premises and providing quality inputs to engineering design and project teams
Understanding and deploy quality process improvement techniques to ensure that continuous improvement is maintained
Managing and taking responsibility for all quality related activities (QA, QC, Inspection) without daily supervision and can deputise for the Quality Manager when the need arises
Understanding and highlighting adverse trends, recommending and initiating corrective actions and ensure effective closure
Mentoring and leading a small group of quality professionals as and when required
Developing, maintaining and managing key relationships in the business both internally and externally
Your skills and qualifications as a Quality Leader:
Chartered professional through relevant management institute e.g. CMI, CQI
Educated to HND level or can demonstrate suitable experience
Trade or Quality Background
Proven track record or understanding of electro mechanical systems

Complex Systems and Support:
Complex Systems and Support (CS&S) is part of BAE Systems Submarines. We predominantly supply to the UK MoD but with smaller derivative work done in support of international Customers. Our team is responsible for system design, build and/or procurement of the major electronic and mechanical systems on a submarine, as well as provision of test, integration and support services.
Innovation is central to our DNA and has produced the Common Combat System (CCS) to address the customer’s affordability, technology and capability challenges. It is based on commercial off-the-shelf technology (COTS) coupled with bespoke military hardware and software and is being progressively rolled-out into the UK's Submarine flotilla.
