What we are looking for

We have an exciting opportunity for the post of Security Manager, responsible for managing a diverse range of security related activities. This is a senior position and will attract appropriate terms and conditions in line with SR6.

Who we are

SGN manage the network that distributes natural and green gas to 5.9 million homes and businesses across Scotland and the south of England. Whoever your supplier is, our pipes deliver gas safely, reliably and efficiently to every one of our customers. It’s your gas, in our network.

What does a Security Manager do?

    Investigation of internal/external criminal activity.

      Development of crime prevention and risk reduction strategies, security policies and reports.

        Risk identification and design of physical security systems including intruder detection, CCTV and access control.

          Effectively manage security projects and their associated finances; provide direct security support to our Directors and senior management team.

            Advise and coach on security matters at all levels within SGN.

              You will also be expected to respond to bomb threats and undertake reconnaissance.

                        This role will involve direct liaison with external organisations including government (CPNI, BEIS, Home Office and the Police); therefore, knowledge of UK law (e.g. PACE and GDPR), government security strategy and experience in crime investigation and counter terrorism would be an advantage.

                          A detailed understanding of security risks relating to the gas industry, together with the ability to understand risk and trend analysis and implement protocols which mitigate identified risks.

                            Experience in fraud and criminal investigation is preferential.

                              This role will require travel across our Southern and Scotland networks, therefore a flexible working approach and a clean driving license are essential.
