This role is first and foremost a sales role integral to off-trade sales function of B-F, driving performance in one of B-F UK’s major retail partners. The key responsibility is to deliver NSV and profitability for Brown Forman as well as to establish and maintain a strong relationship with the customer and to achieve the objectives assigned to the channel and specifically your assigned account(s). Working with the Senior National Account Manager, you will define sales, distribution, inventory/ stock, promotional goals and commercial strategies for your accounts; including analysis of sales, distribution and promotion performance, implementation and evaluation of trade activities.

Responsibilities

  • Build and develop a strong relationship customer(s) and understand what drives their decisions, taking time to learn about the business and spend time in store and provide valuable insight

  • Build strong internal relationships. working with the brand teams, category insights, finance, trade marketing, sales operations and supply chain among others

  • Meet/exceed annual volume, value & profit objectives of all brands across your account, continuously detecting and developing both the customer's and B-F's business opportunities

  • Work closely with Senior Account Manager and Head of off trade on the development of business and portfolio strategies, yearly budgets, trade terms, price structures, profit margins, etc;

  • Develop annual account plan including volume, promotional activity, visibility, logistics and financial information along with KPIs for measuring results

  • Develop and communicate annual commercial strategy and work to align with the overall UK commercial strategy including goals and KPIs.

  • Negotiate and close annual and seasonal commercial agreements with account

  • Manage the company’s sales planning, controlling of discounts spending and sales results, reporting and budgeting requirements and processes

Must Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing or related area

  • Proven ability to build and establish an effective network and relationships in the grocery sector

  • Significant, progressive Sales experience, ability to quickly identify customer and channel needs as well as the ability to unlock insights from data and use them to drive growth with our trade partners

  • Depth of experience in customer negotiations at a national and regional level, and a sound knowledge of UK & IRL retail environment

  • Strong Business Acumen, P&L experience

Experience

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business related area and previous significant, progressive sales experience and a proven ability to build and establish an effective network and relationships in the grocery sector. They ability to quickly identify customer and channel needs as well as the ability to unlock insights from data and use them to drive growth with our trade partners. Previous experience working in wine and spirits or luxury FMCG industries is preferable.
