Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.

Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.

We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds, Barnsley and Birmingham.

Following extensive investment across our Technology and Digital domains and with plans for continued expansion throughout 2019 and beyond, we are currently seeking a number of experienced Agile Business Analysts to join HSBC Technology.

Operations and Shared Services Technology was formed at the beginning of 2018, bringing together some of the critical services which are used by all GB / GFs into one organisation. The aim was to create a dedicated shared services centre to enhance technology capability, better support Operations and deliver industry leading change.

The total portfolio of OSS Technology is c$550 million budget in 2019 which includes Run the Bank of critical services and large scale CTB transformation programmes. OSS Technology encompasses shared platforms which are used by multiple GB / GFs and external customers. Core Banking processess17 billion transactions per year, 56 million accounts, deployed in 65 countries with over 20 million lines of code.

Group Operations is embarking on an exciting and bold journey to fundamentally change the way we interact with customers and how we provide products and services to them. The longer term vision is to better use technology and innovation to deliver a simpler, better and faster customer experience while also being more cost effective.

That is why the Operations Transformation Programme was created. Its purpose is to lay the foundation required to meet this change by being intensely focused on transforming our processes and ways of working through technology, innovation and investment in people.

The Operations Transformation programme is a 3 year, £300m programme aimed at transforming key customer journeys across 5 main work streams; Consumer, Wholesale, Ops Services, Payments and FCR. This programme feeds into the wider HSBC 2030 vision statement of evolving our processes, organisational structure and ways of working to deliver a faster and better service to our customers and help HSBC become the world’s leading international bank

What you will be doing;

  • The successful candidate will be accountable for the delivery of programme/projects with delivery Teams & Partners. Or accountable for key phases and deliverables such as Business Analysis & architecture

  • They will be responsible for reporting progress against project plans

  • They will also work closely with other areas of OSS Technology, HOST & 3rd party vendors to ensure that all programmes, projects and initiatives can be supported to deliver the IT change agenda, whilst ensuring strategic alignment through architecture & innovation.

  • Some leadership and people accountability including management of Professionals, Programme managers and 3rd parties.

  • Some Responsibility of direct and indirect team members located globally to support delivery into countries & regions to realise benefits.

  • Accountable for budget management, where appropriate for role

  • Reporting to senior Ops & OSS IT stakeholders
