Data Operations - Associate

The Data Governance and Controls lead and team members deliver key projects aligned to a strategy to mitigate data risk, including risks associated with data quality, data souring, data consumption, and data use/access. The individual will manage all aspects of assigned projects in support of the data management agenda and execute against established goals, in partnership with members from line of businesses Data Management, Firmwide data management office, and broad Technology organization. This position plays an important role in the firm’s agenda to control its data risk while simultaneously providing the business the ability to utilize data in an agile manner to meet business objectives.



Responsibilities


    Analyze and document metadata using workflow tools to process output.


      Process queries against data element locations to build profiling information and measure impact and information related to specific elements.


        Assist in root cause analysis by investigating data quality issues and recommending solutions.


          Collaborate with key stakeholders, business partners, and control partners to document impacts of data quality up and down stream.


            Assess accuracy of analytics, and ensure accuracy around documentation of systems of record, authoritative sources, and their usage.


              Expected to join multiple databases and systems together in more complex queries that require sophistication and knowledge.


                Escalates issues and risks appropriately.


                  Independently develops value-adding business or functional areas solutions.


                    Prepares standard and ad hoc management reports and presentations.

                    Qualifications

                    • Experience in Data Operations or related roles
                    • Bachelor’s degree
                    • Operational business knowledge of processes, data and technology platforms
                    • Problem solving and analytical skills
                    • Communicates effectively with cross-functional teams to resolve conflicts through broad based decision making with key stakeholders
                    • Knowledge of either Python or Java and query writing and execution using SQL or other data analysis tools.
                    • Preferred candidate is also familiar with AVRO and AWS.
