THE ROLE

As a member of the Global Comms team, you’ll help build and nurture the reputation of Global and its entertainment brands and initiatives, including Heart, Capital, Radio X, The Official Big Top 40, Global Player, Global Original podcasts, Global’s Make Some Noise and The Global Awards.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

This is a fun and busy role in a fast-paced, lively environment and high performing team. You’ll focus on driving awareness and consideration for Global’s entertainment brands with scope to shape your remit.

  • You’ll create and deliver proactive publicity plans for Heart, the UK’s biggest commercial radio brand, and The Official Big Top 40 – the UK’s biggest chart show
  • You’ll support the Senior Publicity Manager on publicity for Capital and Radio X (with scope to shape your remit if you have a passion for a particular brand)
  • You’ll develop publicity plans to promote The Global Player and Global Original podcasts
  • You’ll work on publicity plans for, and media management at, some of Global’s live events, from intimate gigs to Capital’s Summertime Ball
  • You’ll lead the PR activity for your brands on the annual campaign for Global’s charity, Global’s Make Some Noise
  • You’ll play a key role in the PR planning and media management for The Global Awards
  • You’ll work with the Senior Publicity Manager and Programming teams to generate ideas to drive coverage, and you’ll respond quickly to show content to maximise coverage
  • You’ll support the comms team in communications around our quarterly RAJAR results
  • You’ll develop messaging and media materials such as press releases, factsheets and reactive statements and Q&As
  • You’ll organise and oversee photoshoots
  • You’ll build and nurture relationships with journalists at target media outlets and with key internal and external stakeholders

WHO YOU’LL BE WORKING WITH

  • The communications team, working closely with the Senior Publicity Manager and Group Director of Communications
  • The broader marketing team working closely with the brand marketing managers
  • The programming team, working with managing editors and producers across the UK
  • The events team
  • The digital, social media and video teams
  • The Global’s Make Some Noise charity team
  • Presenters and their management/agents and publicists
  • Artist management and record labels
  • Our retained PR agency, Seven Dials

You’ll have the following experience…

  • Public relations professional with 6+ years experience
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment
  • High profile talent handling
  • Writing for media, and a strong network of media contacts
  • Working with senior people
  • Multi-tasking and prioritising different demands
  • Live events experience is a bonus although not essential
  • Knowledge of keynote/power point essential
