Would you like the opportunity to join the Quality Control Team for Maritime Submarines? We currently have a vacancy for a Team Leader - QC Outfit.

As a Team Leader - QC Outfit, you will take accountability for delivering the Quality Inspection requirements of Boat units as part of the submarine build programme This involves understanding the Quality requirements, the schedule and priorities and ensuring the provision of an inspection service in line with the above. The role is also accountable for ensuing that high-quality records are produced as an output of inspection.

This is fantastic opportunity to support the Outfit Build QC Team. Development opportunity with include the ability to move onto a Quality Manager Position, Other areas of quality or onto build delivery.

Your main responsibilities as a Team Leader - QC Outfit will involve:

Daily management of the inspection teams.

Deliveries of the required records to support the key build milestones.

Supporting the General Manager and Build teams in improving their quality performance and culture.

Communicating effectively with the team, management and both internal and external customers to help support and maintain the IWT structure including the encouragement and delivery of a continual improvement ethos.

Deploying the applicable Quality Management System and SH&E documentation to your team ensuring they have both a thorough understanding of the content, risks and control measures and can ultimately demonstrate their competence to apply them.

Your skills and qualifications:


Related Engineering or Manufacturing Background

Broad Understanding of Quality Inspection Techniques

Good IT skills in particular Microsoft Office and SAP

Understanding quality requirements within a highly regulated engineering


Problem solving and Root Cause Analysis

Auditing and Investigation experience within Quality

Maritime – Submarines

Our Submarines business has been safely delivering world class submarines to the UK Royal Navy for more than a century.

The Astute class will equip the Royal Navy with its largest and most capable generation of attack submarines. We are responsible for the design, build, test and commissioning of these state-of-the-art vessels. In total, seven boats will make up the fleet, each weighing a mighty 7,400 tonnes.

Dreadnought is the successor to the Vanguard class of nuclear deterrent submarines. We will deliver four submarines to the Royal Navy, with the first submarine entering service in the early 2030s. Dreadnought is widely considered to be one of the world's most complex engineering challenges.
