Position Description:

At Expedia our mission is to revolutionize travel through the power of technology and our Checkout team is looking for a Technical Product Manager to help us do it. Our Checkout platform processes millions of bookings a week from customers across the globe using one of our 40+ localized websites or our award-winning mobile app. As a Technical Product Manager on our team you'll partner with product owners and engineers to deliver technical products solving customer problems. You'll own requirements analysis, perform project management and facilitate the full Agile development lifecycle for your engineering team.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with product, UX and engineering partners to identify functional and technical requirements for new feature developments
  • Lead project planning activities and drive cross-discipline requirements discussions
  • Author high quality user stories, feature specifications and acceptance criteria
  • Project manage all aspects of our Agile software development life cycle
  • Report on project progress, remove blockers and pitch in to resolve issues
  • Proactively mitigate risks and supervise trade-offs between scope and schedule
  • Balance business and technical objectives to set clear, stable priorities for your team
  • Facilitate the design and delivery of high-quality, high-performance technical solutions
  • Work across disciplines to define and monitor success metrics for your product
  • Prioritise the resolution of production issues using application logging and site analytics tools to assess impact
  • Contribute to our culture of adapting, improving and embracing change

Requirements:

  • Experience as a Product Manager and/or Technical Product Manager/Technical Project Manager
  • An engineering background and early career experience as a software developer
  • A deep understanding of web product development and architectures
  • Exposure to working with AWS technologies
  • Adept at gathering complex requirements and distilling them into user stories
  • Proven experience and a high degree of competency as a project manager leading cross team projects
  • Experience with the full life-cycle delivering technical solutions using Agile methodologies
  • Exposure to working with application logging and site analytics tools such as Splunk , Omniture and Glassbox
  • High degrees of competency and experience conducting data analysis and reporting using SQL and reporting tools such Tableau
  • Experience working with agile tracking tools such as JIRA, Trello, Mingle
  • Excellent communicator with the ability to present complex technical information to a variety of audiences
  • Travel industry experience is a must
  • BSC/MSC in Technology, Information Technology or Computer Science
