Supply Chain Manager – GFE (government furnished equipment)
Would you like to play a key role within our Material Management GFE function, this function is an integral part of the BAE Submarines business operating in multiple locations across the site. We currently have a vacancy for a Supply Chain Manager – GFE at our site in Barrow-in-Furness.
As a Supply Chain Manager – GFE, you will lead/co-ordinate material management activities relating to receipt, handling, care & protection, maintenance, dispatch, delivery to point of use and contractual asset accounting of all Government Furnished Equipment (GFE), you will also have the ability to contribute to the manufacture of world class submarines across multiple programmes.
This role will provide you with significant development opportunities within Material Management and the wider organisation, as well as a real opportunity to demonstrate and grow your credibility at senior levels and across the business through the delivery of our customers’ requirements.
Your main responsibilities as a Supply Chain Manager – GFE will involve:
The responsibility for ensuring the Health & Safety of all your employees and that your area operates in accordance with Company Health and Safety Policies and Procedures
Maintenance and development of GFE/Public Stores Account processes
Developing and reporting of GFE/Public Stores Account Performance measures
Regular reviews / PSA quarterly reports / audits planned & scheduled with relevant stakeholders throughout the year
Completion of mandated annual GFE physical stock check & required certification
Sub-contractor management/returns/repairs for non-self-accounting suppliers
Ensuring adherence to all Logistics processes (receipt, store, maintain, kit and dispatch) both physical and within the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
Developing by improving and subsequently managing key activities within the Logistics Operational Delivery team
Continually review and improve processes using lean tools and techniques
Your skills and qualifications as a Supply Chain Manager – GFE:
Functional Knowledge (Material Management/Logistics/Projects)
Experience of leading and developing teams across multiple locations
Change Management, strong diplomacy and influencing skills.
Lean improvement experience with demonstrable experience in the use of lean tools
Able to deal with internal/external stakeholders across multiple levels and functions
You will be well organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and plan accordingly, you will have dynamic and engaging skills which will influence and inspire people at all levels along with being able to empathise and manage stakeholders effectively, you will be a good team player with strong ethical principles and hold excellent communication and strong diplomacy skills.
