Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Ref:9395)

We have an opportunity for a proactive Mechanical Maintenance Fitter to work as as part of our on-site Maintenance team. Working with us, you will play a key role in maintaining the site's fixed and portable assists, working closely with all departments to ensure health and safety is at the forefront of everything we do. About the role

You will maintain, service and repair our fleet of plant machinery maintaining safe working practices at all times and drive continuous improvement across all equipment reliability, bringing fresh ideas to the fore through root cause analysis investigations and your proactive mindset.

Other elements to the role include:

  • Carrying out Risk assessments and STOP’s for all tasks, with reviews when required.

  • Proactively challenging any unsafe behaviors across the Plant.

  • Setting standards, organising and providing technical guidance to assigned workers (employees/contractors).

  • Supporting the maintenance team in control of budget spend

  • Participating in the installation, testing, commissioning of new assets and refurbishments

What will you bring?

  • ​Strong mechanical fitting and/or HME experience with a recognised Mechanical Engineering Apprenticeship or hold Mechanical Engineering qualification.

  • Experience with mechanical fitting work, within an industrial and/or manufacturing environment

  • Recognized Health & Safety or training course – IOSH is preferred

  • A license to drive various types of mobile plant & access equipment including forklift trucks is preferred

  • Any experience of hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, welding or fabrication.

  • Experience working with machinery maintenance

  • A practical and logical nature in order to gain full knowledge and understanding of the products

  • Positive and proactive attitude with the ability to motivate self and others

  • Proven ability to problem solve and make rational logical recommendations

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with ability to build effective relationships at all levels
