Paid Media Specialist

About the role

The Paid Media Specialist plays a key role within the Growth Marketing and wider Digital Experience teams at Abcam, managing digital brand and performance advertising activities across paid search, programmatic prospecting and retargeting, video and affiliates.

This is a global role, so we need someone who’s comfortable managing activity and stakeholder relationships across multiple channels, regions and product categories. You’ll work alongside category managers to meet specific campaign objectives as well reviewing opportunities to maximise always-on performance across the product catalogue. Using your expert knowledge of campaign optimization and conversion tracking, you will deliver against KPIs and ensure maximum return on advertising spend (ROAS).

Roles & responsibilities:

  • Manage large scale campaigns across multiple paid media channels, with a primary focus on paid search

  • Continuous optimization based on performance and ROI to meet business objectives

  • Extensive keyword, competitor and market analysis

  • Campaign creation and bid management using 3rd party tools

  • Data analysis and reporting

  • Campaign optimization against monthly KPIs and business objectives

  • Budget management and forecasting

  • Optimising the Abcam martech stack, ensuring we have the right technology in place to drive performance

About you

  • The ideal candidate will possess extensive paid media experience gained either with another online business or in agency environment. We’re looking for someone with an advanced knowledge of existing and up-and-coming paid media channels, primarily across (but not limited to) paid search (essential), programmatic display & video, and affiliates.Google AdWords Certification would be advantageous.

  • You should also possess strong analytical skills as well as working knowledge of Google Analytics, MS Excel and BI tools (Tableau would be an advantage). A working knowledge of automation and scripting would also be an advantage.

  • You should appreciate the commercial drivers within online marketing and be able to provide an innovative approach to paid media opportunities. You should understand which levers to pull to drive performance, as well as being able to model growth based on unit economics and keeping abreast of the latest trends, technologies and emerging media channels.
