We currently have a vacancy for a Management Accountant – EITS Cost Base at our site in The Strand, Preston.
As a Management Accountant – EITS Cost Base, you will manage the EITS IBP Change Management process from demand input through to update of the IBP & forecast and issue to Customer Business Groups. In addition, to support the IBP process, the incumbent also runs the Risk & Opportunities programme for EITS, ensuring they are tracked and managed through to realisation or mitigation and applied accordingly to the IBP or forecast.
This role will provide you with the opportunity to gain exposure to the IT function of BAE Systems, an area receiving increasing investment year on year. You will liaise with varied types of services across a predominantly UK customer base. There are also exciting opportunities to progress within Finance Shared Services and the wider business.
Your main responsibilities as a Management Accountant – EITS Cost Base will involve:
Define and manage the creation and publication of the annual EITS rolling IBP programme
Produce timely communications to the Management team, Service Owners, Business Relationship Managers and customer IM&T senior leads
Co-ordinate with the Service Owner, technical SMEs, suppliers, Finance and Commercial colleagues to understand and validate IBP changes
Ensure that changes are structured to define the direct impact to the IBP via the recharges to the Business Groups
Management of IBP cost models keeping them up to date for service pricing and volume consumption for all services and customer business groups
Manage the IBP Service Cost Model in support of detailed understanding of the IBP Service Taxonomy, giving a budget breakdown of the buy (cost of service) and sell (BG consumption) side of all services
Track all cost reduction opportunities from initial idea to realisation of benefits
Provide standard reporting & commentary in support of regular senior business reviews (Both within Shared Services and for Customer IM&T leads)
Ensure alignment with and support of Business Group cost reduction programmes
Your skills and qualifications:
Qualified or part qualified accountant (CIMA/ACCA) and willing to complete their studies
Must be currently operating in an Accountant role and have experience in this position
Track record of working within in a large matrix organisation
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
Educated to Degree level or equivalent
Good knowledge of ITIL best practices

Salary: £35,000 + commensurate with experience
