Data Platform Product Development

The Securities Services Data Platform team is responsible for formulating and implementing the Data Strategy for the Securities Services business. We set strategic direction, identify and govern Data best practice, manage end-to-end data delivery across asset classes from Systems of Record through to consumers and own the presentation of our data across multiple distribution channels. The Data Platform team sits within the Product Development organization as part of the broader Extended Enterprise.

The Role

This Associate role is for a business Project Manager who is highly data literate and a strong change leader. The role offers the opportunity to work on the critical pillars of the Securities Services business strategy, supporting for instance the creation of the investment Middle Office Service (iMOS), and build-out of the Data Platform. There is a clear path for the right candidate for the role platform to expand into Data Model ownership and/or Data centric business programme execution.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Management of the Data Platform delivery for complex change programmes such as for iMOS

    • Prioritisation and scheduling of work, understanding the relative importance of different pieces of work, dependencies across streams, and positioning Data Platform in the overall programme.

    • Ownership of the project artefacts – RAID log, actions, plan.

    • Collaborate with key stakeholder groups – Data Publishers, Data modellers, consumers, technology, operations, PMO teams

    • Identification and implementation of areas of process improvement

    • Manage effective working group meetings across Product, Operations and Technology to deliver the data strategy

    • Ultimately accountable for project delivery – programme definition, planning and execution – but also needs to hold others to account for their components of delivery

  • End to end Data solutions
    • Engaging end to end stakeholders in determining data-centric solutions covering asset class lifecycle, trade flows & operational activities

    • Bridge Data publisher capabilities with consumer requirements, governing the end to end flow

Scope for growth: In the medium term it is envisioned that the role will expand to entail responsibility for a Data Set as an SME (e.g. transactions, holdings) and/or as a Data change lead, including responsibility for:

  • Operating model design
  • Data Modelling design
  • End to end complex programme ownership.

The successful candidate will have the following experience/characteristics:

  • Strong track record of business delivery within Data or Financial Services

  • Excellent written and oral communication, clarity of thought and the ability to express oneself clearly

  • Problem solving skills, with the ability to see the big picture across lines of business, as well as being able to step in to understand the detail to help resolve issues as and when required

  • Self-motivated, quick learner, being the focal point of a virtual project team, comfortable with responsibility

  • Proven good judgment , particularly on prioritizing your own and others’ workloads – including managing multiple deliveries simultaneously

  • Drive and determination – leading, influencing and driving programme contributors to meet overall project objectives

  • Strong analytical / quantitative skills, using programs such as Microsoft Excel, Tableau

  • Being able to build relationships across teams

  • Ability to multi-task, effectively prioritise workloads, and manage multiple streams of work concurrently

  • Experience with system, process or data design, Target Operating Models
  • An interest and experience in data modelling, technology.
