Role Summary:

Baker Hughes currently has an opportunity for a Tender Manager, to join their team in Bristol.

This position will be responsible for securing good quality new capital business for BHGE's Subsea Productions Systems organisation. Dedicated to facilitating relationships with external customers via the tendering process, the EPC Tender Manager will manage the Global business disciplines to include tendering strategy, pricing and commercial/legal negotiations.

The role requires strong leadership, a confident customer negotiator and an unwavering drive to succeed.

Essential Responsibilities:

Develop proposals; negotiate with customers; ensure deals deliver shareholder value; drive competitive pricing.

Liaise with and support Early Engagement Managers with new business opportunities in the development of subsea technical solution, commercials and supporting sales strategies Own the entire tendering process and sales strategy from Pursuit Phase, receipt of ITT thru to proposal submission generation/ approval and deal negotiation and ultimately to hand-over to the Project's Execution Team

Gain Customer, Competition and market intelligence

Understand Customer drivers and ITT requirements translate these into actionable and winning opportunity strategies

Actively engage and establish consortium partnership to facilitate the tendering of SURF/ SPS opportunities

Ensure the compliant, accurate, timely and effective tendering process by defining the tendering team, managing the tendering team and process. Coordinate the required information flow with all other teams (from engineering, scheduling, sourcing thru to manufacturing and project management)

Ultimately responsible for the tender integrity, securing and documenting all required sign-offs (from technical, schedule, definition, financial, commercial, contractual to execution/ project execution)

Lead the customer clarification/ negotiation process and the internal review process

Ensure requirement deal management approvals are gained and lead the management review sessions.

Responsible for the quality of the proposal's content and presentation

Ensure the latest business tools are correctly employed and actively participate in the development and implementation of new improvement processes and new tools.

Participate in global improvement initiatives

Qualifications/Requirements:

A Bachelors or Master’s degree from an accredited university in Engineering, Business or other technical or business related field.

Substantial relevant experience in tendering complex systems deals in oil and gas, aerospace, defense, nuclear or similar industries.

Leadership and ownership are an essential character requirement for this key Commercial role.

Desired Characteristics:

A minimum of 10 years Oil and Gas industry experience is desirable though not essential.

Ability to demonstrate clear thinking with effective communication at all levels.
