Reporting to the HVDC Team Leader will provide technical and project engineering management support for the successful delivery of multi-discipline HVDC Interconnector projects. With responsibility that projects are delivered in accordance with the contract to the satisfaction of the client, and are in line with programme, quality and margins. Will contribute to project planning and scheduling and making sure that any deviations are identified and confirmed with the client in a timely manner. Coordinate across project disciplines, external subcontractors and remote offices such that technical risks are identified and mitigated, and all statutory and regulatory requirements are met.
The HVDC project engineer will join Mott MacDonald's HVDC project team in UK. They will work with the existing HVDC team on all matters and projects relating to HVDC projects.
The HVDC project engineer will also be expected to provide technical expertise into bids and proposals and to represent the company in client meetings as appropriate.
Actual work load will be dictated by the business but in the main will consist of scope for typical HVDC project lifecycle:
1) Feasibility Studies
2) Optioneering Studies
3) Specification preparation
4) Technical Bid Review
5) Design Assurance
6) Design Review
7) Site and FAT visits
8) OEM Support Services
9) Site pre-commissioning and commissioning oversight supervision
10) Due Diligence
11) Technical expert services
12) Some original design may also be involved.
Attention to internal procedures including financial status reports, project reviews and risk register is an integral part of the role along with ensuring relevant Health and Safety risks are identified, made known to the project team and properly managed.
