The Global Markets Electronic Trading Controls team develops and implements the first line of defense controls strategy for J.P. Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank Markets division. The BCM has responsibilities in control design, implementation, evaluation and representation to internal and external parties including global regulators. The BCM needs to develop a deep relationships with stakeholders across functional lines, understanding of the businesses, their risks, controls, architecture, and products.
The successful candidate will work in Markets E-Trading Controls team supporting the team’s objectives regarding the use of Models in JP Morgan’s Corporate and Investment Bank (CIB) Markets division.
The candidate is expected to facilitate, develop, and enhance tools for mitigating and analysing risks arising from model development, including control design, implementation, and evaluation. The candidate will work closely with the CIB’s Quantitative Research, Technology, and Model Governance Groups to simplify, expedite, and enhance the Front Office Controls agenda with respect to Models.
Support the Markets E-Trading Team by designing, developing, and evaluating controls on Models
Presenting information to diverse audiences of varied technological and mathematical experience to facilitate Model approval, safety, and broader governance
Support the broader Front Office Markets agenda through research, presentations, document assessments and reviews of emerging Model techniques, applications, and business developments
Support the mitigation risks associated with the use and development of Models
Ad-hoc data analysis, report generation, and representation to internal Audit and external regulators
Interacting daily with the Quantitative Research, Risk, and Technology teamsEducation
MSc or PhD level – in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, or similarExperience
Early career experience with risk management, quantitative finance, or application developer with an emphasis on financial markets.
It is strongly desirable for a candidate to have direct experience in electronic trading development, advanced modelling techniques, risk identification and evaluation, and related functions of contemporary Investment Banks.

Strong controls focus and comfortable working with large amounts of data
Demonstrated ability to transform complex data into intuitive visualizations
Excellent communications and presentation skills in high-stakes conversationsDesirable skills:
Event-driven programming frameworks and contemporary machine learning techniques
Contemporary experience using Object-Orientated Programming languages (e.g. Java, C++, C#)
Experience using Functional Programming languages: R, MatLab, etc.
