The Energy Unit, specifically the Power, Process & Nuclear division are recruiting for a Civil/Structural Engineer to join our team in Cumbria. This role is to support the client locally and larger nuclear team based in the UK, this role may require occasional travel to site and other offices for meetings.

Responsible for civil/ structural engineering design services
Undertake the services above as required by MML role in the project (Lenders Engineer, Owners Engineer, Detailed Designer)
Be aware of level of detail required for the different stages of the project (concept, preliminary, tender design, detailed design)
Check and review of designs undertaken by MML engineers
Guidance and mentoring of less experienced engineers and graduate engineers
Undertake design reviews of 3rd party deliverables, and can substantiate comments in discussions
Conversant with latest codes and standards for design of civil / structural engineering elements in power stations (thermal, renewables, hydro) In addition, ideally conversant in regulations and design philosophies used in civil / structural engineering in the nuclear power generation environment
Liaising with other design teams (and other disciplines) in the power station design environment, from both internal and external design parties
Maintain client relationships
Lead and manage small design teams
Project delivery (monitoring of project spends versus budget, delivery to agreed programme)
Support business development activities including prospective client visits; bids preparing bids

You will be able to demonstrate strong design experience from a nuclear environment, some project management experience would be advantageous; including design, project execution and delivery. You will have excellent communication and leadership skills. Candidates from a nuclear background would be preferred. Days/Hours are negotiable.
