Field Service Engineer (Submarine Support)

Would you like to play a crucial role in the support of our submarine business function? We currently have a vacancy for a Field Service Engineer (Submarine Support) at our site in home based (Mobile working).

As a Field Service Engineer (Submarine Support), you will be providing actuation Control, Autopilot and depth equipment support for Vanguard, Trafalgar & former Upholder (now Canadian DND) Class Submarines as well as providing field support for Depth Equipment’s for overseas customers.

This role will provide you with an opportunity to work with the latest and greatest technology in an environment that is ever changing and growing.

Your main responsibilities as a Field Service Engineer (Submarine Support) will involve:

Adhere with legislation and company policy

Mobile support for Submarine systems and associated equipment in the UK and overseas as required

Provide on call support as required

Answer technical queries about his/her work within their level of knowledge and competence

Raising risk assessments and method statements to cover work

Design and develop solutions to a range of common design situations and problems

Work as part of a team and under limited technical supervision

Understand and apply a range of fundamental design processes, tools, systems and techniques

Communicate with internal and external Customers and with other functions

Perform self-verification of own tasks to ensure completeness and quality and to arrange checking of work by the appropriate authority.

Your skills and qualifications:
Essential:

Electro and Electrical/Mechanical background

Knowledge and experience of Engineering governance and assurance processes (e.g. Life Cycle Management)

Experience of fault-finding, repair and commissioning of complex electronic systems

Flexible working attitude

Report writing skills
Excellent customer facing skills
Desirable:

Experience of working offsite and providing practicable solutions

Knowledge of Field Services Environment

Background in Military or Defence engineering

Location: Mobile - home based working where the project dictates Broad Oak or Faslane (possible overseas travel)
