Surface Coating Technician (Industrial Painter)

Essential Responsibilities
  • Fully participate in HSE Management Program and comply with all safety, health, and environmental regulations
  • Ensure compliance in respective areas of control with all QHSE Management System requirements, policies and procedures
  • Have a competency in reading, understanding and interpreting engineering support documentation
  • Coatings applied based on customer sales order; complete preparation and final coatings according to requirements and safety rules / regulations; complete all documentation
  • Check routing for accuracy and review all procedures before beginning operations
  • Work within the strict labour hours cycle for operations
  • Flexible to transfer between working cells as required to meet business requirements
  • Engage with the Baker Hughes Cultural Pillars
  • Documentation completion (where applicable)
  • Work to procedure (correct procedure AAP, FAT, EFAT, etc Rev, Deviation in place, NCR work scope ensuring that the correct coating applications and equipment are available as per procedure)
  • Engage with project production visibility schedule boards
  • 5S (Start / End of shift – workshop & paintstore housekeeping)
  • RA & PPE Adherance
  • HRO Compliance (Crane, Forklift, MEWP Scaftags signed up, Work at Height adherence)
  • Engage with HSE & Quality system applications (Concern Reports, Quality Concerns, Stop Works, etc)
  • Engage with on-site production improvements (YESS, CI’s)
  • Ensure compliance with COSHH and COSHH register
  • Oracle – vouchering is accurate to drive correct PMR
  • Understand utilisation and how this effects personal and business requirements
  • Kronos – time and attendance adherence
  • Review future operational requirements for Projects within workshop and other working cells
  • Maintain core and product competencies within the identified Baker Hughes competency cycle
  • Personal Management of yearly holiday entitlement
  • Personal absence Management
  • Flexibility for holiday cover
  • Flexibility for overtime requirements
  • Refresher training completed (flexibility is a requirement due to shifts and trainer availability)
  • All on-line training completed before end of year
  • Competency folder maintained and updated quarterly
  • Training & guidance of any new coating technicians, apprentices and contractors to the business
Desired Qualifications
  • Completed an apprenticeship within a preparation and coating application environment or equivalent
  • Certified to Nace Level 1 & 2
  • Proven experience within an Oil & Gas environment, preferably Subsea Tree’s and associated equipment with proven competency record of preparation and coating applications
  • Proven experience and/or training within a preparation and coating applications environment
  • Certified in the following operational activities (Fork lift, Overhead crane, MEWP, Working at Heights)
