Our technology teams in the UK work closely with HSBC’s global businesses to help design and build digital services that allow our millions of customers around the world, to bank quickly, simply and securely. We also run and manage our IT infrastructure, data centres and core banking systems that power the world’s leading international bank.
Our multi-disciplined teams include: DevOps engineers, IT architects, front and back end developers, infrastructure specialists, cyber experts, as well as project and programme managers.
We work in small, agile DevOps teams with colleagues around the world from our offices at the Bluefin Building in Southwark, our Global headquarters in Canary Wharf, and multiple other locations around the UK including Sheffield, Leeds and Birmingham.
We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Digital Project / Programme Manager. The role sits within the wider HSBC Digital Services team, focusing on delivery of new Digital solutions across all digital channels. In parallel, the IT Transformation Programme provides an opportunity to participate and influence our transition from waterfall delivery to Agile and DevOps.
Lead and manage multiple large, highly visible, enterprise-level projects consisting of multiple cross functional teams using lean/agile methodology in a fast-paced environment that crosses multiple business divisions and requires coordination within a large and complex dependency network
Play a leadership role to help establish the appropriate people, process, and tools across teams distributed around the globe
Functionally management a team of 10+ Delivery, Release and Implementation Managers distributed across the globe
Coach and support teams as needed to optimise flow
Lead and direct circa 10 global ‘pods’ of Agile Scrum Teams consisting of scrum masters, project managers and engineers to support execution against delivery plans and product road maps while removing blockers and impediment to accelerate E2E delivery into prioritised markets; leveraging organisational resources to improve capacity for project work; and mentoring and developing team members
Champion agile and lean principles to reduce lead time of delivering product to markets while creating a culture of continuous improvement
Manage stakeholders expectations and working relationship with the teams with focus on transparency and collaboration.
Be capable of demonstrating a close working relationship and partnership with Product Owners, working collaboratively to plan and forecast for conflicting priorities and demand from multiple global business areas. Able to act on behalf of Product Owners when required.
Control and manage both financial and resource actuals and forecasting across the programme.
