Senior Manufacturing Engineer

Would you like to join a team working to deliver an optimum level of design and maturity for our successor programme? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Manufacturing Engineer at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior Manufacturing Engineer, you will be part of a design team working with different functions in support of the construction programme.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to work clients in a varied role, you will also work through the Manufacturing, Engineering Framework and receive coaching and development through further education.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer will involve:

Ensuring the Major Area can be effectively designed, built & tested, by developing the Level 3 Major Area plan and driving cross-functional working in the area. Support the MAT Leader in ensuring that the Operations requirements for the area have been met. Contribute towards validating the buildability of the spatial design by utilising Visualisation software. Perform build assessments, system arrangement reviews, animations, clash detections for whole boat issues from Successor stakeholders (Build & Test SIT/MAT, PED etc.).

The main responsibilities as a Senior Manufacturing Engineering will involve

Co-ordinating technical information and programmes and assist in the development of documentation.

Supporting development of department processes.

Liaising with planning and Operations IWT's to ensure product changes are met within production.

Communicating relevant ECR's to their impacted facility, including collecting and distributing information required to enforce a Stop Work notice.

Liaising with engineering and other technical departments.

Assisting with development of innovative process solutions, ensuring that timely deadlines are met

Identifying self-development opportunities, understanding, developing and implementing greater customer relations

Accessing and having a clear understanding of and applying the Quality and HS&E Management System documentation, e.g. Process Instructions, Workmanship Standards, Risk Assessments etc., applicable to your particular work scope and to obey all HS&E rules and control measures.

Your skills and qualifications:

Demonstrable Shipbuilding and design (Process) knowledge is essential to this role

LCM / PLM knowledge relating to submarines.

Experience of working within a cross functional team

Document management skills (Team centre/ SAP)

Understanding technical drawings and technical data
