Position Summary:

We have an opportunity for an experienced Project and Delivery Manager with a SaaS and Identity Management or Access Management background, to take on a role where you will have a dual set of responsibilities as part of Okta's professional services business.

Reporting to the Regional Director of Professional Services, you will have responsibility for the overall project management and completion of professional services projects, as well as responsibility for the planning and deployment of the Okta service for our customers.
This role has complexity, scope and growth, so the need for relevant industry experience, a consultative head and great project skills is an absolute must.

Summary of Responsibilities:

Project Management:

As Project Manager, you will be responsible for the overall project management and completion of professional services projects. Delivery of the projects will be within the constraints of scope, quality, time and costs in order to meet the project objectives and to achieve high customer satisfaction. Duties will include:

  • Work with sales, pre-sales and engineers to define services portion of our solution proposal
  • Manage changes to project scope, through a formal change management policy
  • Coordinate activities of the project team and customer from inception through successful completion
  • Devise initial project plan, monitor the execution of various activities and coordinate any changes
  • Manage and track resource scheduling and project time utilisation
  • Track progress and report status internally and to clients throughout the project life cycle
  • Identify, analyse, and respond to project risks, as they occur
  • Lead quality acceptance activities, for each of the project milestones
  • Co-ordinate transition from Professional Services to on-going Support, at the completion of the project
  • Ensure tasks are constantly updated to reflect actual project status
  • Ensure the project is delivered within the Budget as outlined in the Statement of Work
  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of Identity Management solutions to enterprise customers
  • Exposure and knowledge of delivering Security solutions
  • Identify opportunities to position other Service delivered within the Budget as outlined in the Statement of Work
  • Identify opportunities to position other Service offerings
  • Well versed and experienced in a variety of Software Development Life Cycle processes, including Agile and Scrum
  • Passion for Customer Service

Delivery Management:

As Delivery Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and deployment of the Okta service for our customers to ensure we are providing the appropriate services to ensure their success. You will also be responsible for the regional Professional Services team members assignments and will assist your line manager with oversight and accountability for the regional services including billings /revenue, customer satisfaction, and resources utilisation. Duties will include:

  • Assist with the hiring, growing and retaining PS delivery team members wholly passionate about our customers’ success, including technical consultants, and project managers
  • Ensure resources are properly staffed on projects to ensure achievements, including direct employees and contractors
  • Assist the Okta Strategy & Programs team and PMO with improving regional reporting tools, delivery methodology, standard methodologies, and project templates
  • Utilise project/time tracking solution (Financial Force) to properly run a portfolio of concurrent projects
  • Work closely with the Business Operations, Finance and Legal teams to ensure the proper post-implementation activities are accounted for and in compliance with the corporate policies
  • Ensure quality and time management processes are followed by the team (e.g., change controls, time tracking)
  • Use knowledge repository of deployment standard methodologies and other customer ideas which can continually improve the Okta platform
  • Collaborate with Okta partners as well as assist in the development of Okta Partner Network

Skills, Experience and Knowledge:

  • Knowledge and experience in the delivery of Identity Management solutions (Workforce Identity, Customer Identity etc) to the enterprise
  • Demonstrated relevant experience including a substantial track record of the successful management and delivery of highly complex projects and programs is essential
  • The capability of establishing standards and best practices in business analysis and project management, and developing teams to standards
  • You should have experience of working within a consulting organisation; with strong matrix management skills and ability to work collaboratively in a multi-cultural environment within a (virtual) team
  • Experience of having delivered multi-regional customer projects (UK&I or EMEA territories)
  • Knowledge around the delivery of security solutions in a hybrid or cloud environment
  • Ability to conduct effective executive presentations
  • Experience in traditional and agile project delivery methodologies
  • Experience in on-premise and cloud solutions preferable
  • Target driven, team-player, and focused on great customer outcomes
  • Willing and able to travel up to 50%, or as required
  • Personal Qualities (Leader, Self-Motivated, Flexible, Enthusiastic and Organised)
  • Strong communication and coordination skills
  • Certification in Project Management (PMP/PRINCE2) is preferred
