JPMorgan Asset Management is embarking on a major multi-year, ground up initiative to dramatically enhance our derivatives capabilities end-to-end. We will be leveraging the firm’s Athena (python) platform to handle rapidly increasing trade volumes, shorter time to market, and portfolio management requirements. This effort is of the highest strategic importance to the firm.


Responsibilities of the role include:

  • Build out of tools for the entire Portfolio Management process including portfolio structuring and implementation, position management, trading, middle office, operations and accounting
  • Manage relationship with business stakeholders: Portfolio Managers, Traders, Business Management, Research & Operations

  • Integration of newly built software with existing JP Morgan Asset Management internal platforms


This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

  • BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
  • Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines

  • Understanding of architecture and design across all systems

  • Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
  • Knowledge of industry wide technology strategies and best practices

  • Ability to work in large, collaborative teams to achieve organizational goals, and passionate about building an innovative culture

  • Applied development experience in one or more of object oriented languages such as Java, C++, C#, Python. Optional skillset - Experience with HTML/ JavaScript ( preferably with React)

  • Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement

  • Professional software development experience
  • Numerate degree or equivalent (Engineering, Finance, Computer Science, Mathematics)
  • Candidates with knowledge or experience in financial products preferred
