Salary: £26,844.00 - £31,405.00 Per Annum
Benefits: Free rail or Metrolink travel to/from work within Greater Manchester and free bus travel within Greater Manchester.
Can you help solve the congestion equation? Bottlenecks, tailbacks, overcrowding there are lots of ways to describe the problems on our road and public transport networks but the cause is often simple: demand is greater than capacity.
TfGM oversees transport in Greater Manchester, delivering and improving transport services, facilities and information to make travel easier for everyone. We deliver high-profile, large-scale transport projects, and it’s our experts who provide the information and analysis to shape transport strategy. This is a busy and exciting time for us: under the devolution agreement and with Greater Manchester at the heart of the Northern Powerhouse, transport will play a vital role in supporting growth and prosperity in the UK’s largest regional economy outside London.
We seeking an individual who can use their numerical, data analysis and system development skills to provide intelligence and insight to help TfGM’s customer and operational teams solve these problems, tackle congestion, overcrowding and help improve air quality.
In this role you will need to be innovative in your use of data to provide the key statistics to shape and drive Travel Demand Management initiatives and ultimately help change customers travel behaviour.
You will have experience of interrogating large complex datasets and be able to translate these into easy to understand, user friendly information that can be used internally, shared with partners and pushed through customer information channels. You will support TfGM’s Travel Demand Management team in delivering a range of multi-model measures to tackle transport pressure points around planned events and road works, and help to manage unplanned disruption. This means you will often need to respond to changing priorities and challenging deadlines.
The role requires you to draw information from across TfGM and partner organisations to develop multi-modal solutions, requiring you to have not only excellent knowledge of a variety of software packages, data formats and analysis techniques but also strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
In return, as well as a competitive salary, we also offer a range of fantastic benefits, such as:
- Free Rail or Metrolink travel to and from work within the Greater Manchester boundary
- Free bus travel within Greater Manchester
- 27 days holiday per annum
- Access to the local government pension scheme
The salary range for this role is £26,844 - £31,405. Salary on appointment will be dependent upon your skills and experience.
At TfGM we encourage candidates to discuss flexible working options at any stage of the recruitment process.
We welcome and encourage applications from everyone regardless of age, disability, gender, ethnicity, religion and sexual orientation. We are actively building a diverse workforce and want to create an inclusive environment as we recognise the importance of our workforce reflecting the communities we serve.
If you believe you have the skills and experience for this role we would like to hear from you.
