Global Risk is a thriving and expert risk management function supporting HSBC globally with all aspects of risk management. We are currently seeking an experienced individual to join this team in the role of Senior Risk Officer, Corporate Real Estate Approvals.

The aim of this job is to ensure that the Corporate Real Estate Approvals team delivers balanced risk decisions for the Corporate Real Estate and Large Corporate UK segment .The role encompasses individual decision making, leadership and coaching to a team of Risk Officers and regular feedback and input to inform Risk Appetite and to enhance the Grow, Protect and Simplify agenda within UK Corporate whilst maintaining a stable lending portfolio within Group and HBUK policy objectives.

The jobholder will also be required to undertake approvals in the Corporate segment, as and when necessary.

In this role, you will:

  • Contribute to and manage the credit approval process primarily for Corporate Real estate Segments
  • Contribute to the profitability of HSBC group and minimise loan losses
Provide qualitative and meaningful input on the risk trends within HSBC UK CRE and Large Corporate portfolios and operating units
Ensure all Basel 2/3 regulations are enacted as ‘business as usual’
Lead, develop and motivate the Corporate Real Estate Approvals Credit teams and act as a point of referral for advice and guidance. Provide the primary reference point for our Corporate Real Estate and Large Corporate stakeholders.
