Senior Material Controller - Material Delivery

Would you like to work closely with the CYC build delivery function, supporting IPTs / IWTs (Integrated Project/Working Team), and trade leads? We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Material Controller - Material Delivery at our site in Barrow.

As a Senior Material Controller - Material Delivery, you will be responsible for the readiness of material in line with the System of Work. You will be responsible for the interface between the IPT/IWT (Integrated Project/Working Team), Planning Function, Material Suppliers/Sources and Material Delivery. You will also provide support to the Principal Material Controllers for specific areas.

Your main responsibilities as a Senior Material Controller - Material Delivery will involve:

Representing the Supply Chain Function at meetings with regards to assigned areas of responsibility (e.g. boat units/key build activities)

Providing updates on material status and issues (internal and external supply), whilst taking appropriate actions and expediting to satisfy project schedule demands, key milestones and objectives.

Production of KPI’s and reports to satisfy business requirements, stating material readiness for specific materials within the appropriate window, in accordance with the System of Work.

Ensuring that material issues are resolved in a timely manner, kept up to date or escalating where appropriate

Participating in the assessment of departmental policies and procedures on a periodic basis to identify improvements and confirm that they are appropriate for business needs.

Preparing and collating data, to support departmental reports.

Promoting ‘Right First Time’, contribute to LfE process and liaise with CI team throughout the material readiness/delivery phase.

Providing training of team members with regard to use of appropriate business systems, tools and techniques to ensure compliance with function processes and procedures

Principal contact for designated area, providing clear understanding of material status

Expediting priorities to ensure deadlines are met.

Displaying and promoting professional behaviours in all areas of performance and duties.

Your skills and qualifications:

Essentials:

Experience within Material Delivery / Planning / Manufacture / Logistics / Supply Chain

Understanding of MRP systems/material demand functionality

Understanding and experience of using continuous improvement tools and techniques

Desirables:

Procurement awareness

SAP (or any other MRP tool)

Project Management of complex Engineering Projects
